Engineering Technician/Visual Examination Expert

**Position exists in Richland, Washington** 

Perform radioactive waste characterization: 

Visual examination of radioactive waste

Identification of waste material parameters and

Identification of prohibited items

Keep good records and generate short reports detailing activities and findings.

• Perform work affecting characterization and data generation level review of Contact Handled Waste according to existing procedures. 
• Perform data generation preparation, validation, and submit Batch Data Reports.
• Control of nonconforming items.
• Corrective action reporting and corrective action management of nonconforming items

• Perform radioactive waste characterization:

• Minimum of 12 months experience of radioactive waste, identification of waste, identification of waste material parameters and identification of prohibited items or,
• Individual with related Department of Energy (DOE) experience (waste operations, waste handling, etc.) or, 
• Ex-military navy nuclear operator or,
• Bachelors degree in science related field or equivalent experience, 2yrs experience equals 1yr education.  
• Must have a high level of organizational competence and self-motivation.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Wage commensurate with experience.
