| Description: | ***Position exists in Oak Ridge, TN*** Perform radioactive waste characterization: Visual examination of radioactive waste Identification of waste material parameters and Identification of prohibited items Keep good records and generate short reports detailing activities and findings. - Perform work affecting characterization and data generation level review of Contact Handled Waste according to existing procedures.
- Perform data generation preparation, validation, and submit Batch Data Reports.
- Control of nonconforming items.
- Corrective action reporting and corrective action management of nonconforming items.

| Qualifications: | Minimum of 12 months experience of radioactive waste, identification of waste, identification of waste material parameters and identification of prohibited items or, Individual with related Department of Energy (DOE) experience (waste operations, waste handling, etc.) or, Ex-military navy nuclear operator or, Bachelors degree in science related field or equivalent experience, 2yrs experience equals 1yr education. Must have a high level of organizational competence and self-motivation. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
